things i’ll remember, and things i’ll forget

Posted by Michael on 7 February, 2007

sitting in Honololu Interntional Airport. This place sucks. There was more to this post but it was written whilst barely-awake, so I’ll split the after-action stuff up over the next day or two, once I am free of these infernal flying tubes. Read the rest of this entry »

EOY

Posted by Michael on 31 December, 2006

Spent the first three months of the year working to help afford this whole mess.

Stomped around Shiga a lot, didn’t get a whole lot further away.

First term of school was alright, but ultimately pretty uninspiring.

Second term was better in terms of class content, but I found myself going to only about half of ‘em.

After about August my excursions fell quite a bit; did some driving in October, which was great, but the last distance thing I did.

Same with the web-log entries; I’ve barely written anything over the last few months.

The whole experience – the ups, and the many down I decided NOT to share – has been really good for me. Did a lot of the growing up I missed out on, at some kind of bizarre accelerated pace.

Turned twenty-five, which occasionally sinks in and really freaks me out, but.

We’ll see if I can’t get around on my train pass some more in the next few weeks and have something to write about again.

Anyway.

Starting to feel my age (and I’ll be damned if I even knew what that was supposed to feel like before now). Read the rest of this entry »

definition: part one

Posted by Michael on 11 October, 2006

Michael found three grey hairs in his beard tonight, and the rest of it is looking particularly shot-through with blonde; and while he’s had quite a bit of sun this summer, it hasn’t been quite enough for that. So he’s pretty maudlin right now. Read the rest of this entry »

blargh

Posted by Michael on 3 October, 2006

I hate birthdays and I love Firefly.  Also: living in an almost-proper dorm has assisted in my acceptance of alcohol for personal use.

It’s going to be a long day.

retrospective

Posted by Michael on 17 September, 2006

I don’t have a decent tagline intro. Anyway, it’s the six-month mark (more or less) with another six to go. Read the rest of this entry »
