things i’ll remember, and things i’ll forget

sitting in Honololu Interntional Airport. This place sucks. There was more to this post but it was written whilst barely-awake, so I’ll split the after-action stuff up over the next day or two, once I am free of these infernal flying tubes. Read the rest of this entry »

crazy everywhere-internet

Posted by Michael on 19 January, 2007

Was eating lunch with friend James and his girlfriend in a tiny little restaurant in Nagahama; was run, and staffed, by an 80- or 90-something couple and another woman who was probably in her 70’s.

The music being piped into the dining area was a sky.fm stream. How funky is that?

EOY

Posted by Michael on 31 December, 2006

Spent the first three months of the year working to help afford this whole mess.

Stomped around Shiga a lot, didn’t get a whole lot further away.

First term of school was alright, but ultimately pretty uninspiring.

Second term was better in terms of class content, but I found myself going to only about half of ‘em.

After about August my excursions fell quite a bit; did some driving in October, which was great, but the last distance thing I did.

Same with the web-log entries; I’ve barely written anything over the last few months.

The whole experience – the ups, and the many down I decided NOT to share – has been really good for me. Did a lot of the growing up I missed out on, at some kind of bizarre accelerated pace.

Turned twenty-five, which occasionally sinks in and really freaks me out, but.

We’ll see if I can’t get around on my train pass some more in the next few weeks and have something to write about again.

Anyway.

SNOW

Posted by Michael on 29 December, 2006

Finally. It’s not sticking but it’s been going on all day and it was really great this morning when the sun was coming up and it was blowing in over the lake; ’sall overcast now but still gives that nice-and-cozy feeling.
